New Micropay Professional Maintenance Release v5.2
Sage is pleased to offer an optional maintenance release. It is not essential to download this release; however you may find some of the new features beneficial:
- Running Micropay Professional 2006 and 2007 systems simultaneously
This release has provided the ability to run Micropay 2006 and 2007 systems at the same time. This is useful if you need to work between the two systems for any reason, for example – you may want to compare historical payslips from 2006 with the same period in 2007. - Searching for an employee
Improved usability of the employee 'lookups' in employee details. - Creating a new employee
Improved usability when choosing an employee number for a new employee
- Control Summary Improvements
The Control Summary report has been improved to show the Gross Pay and Tax Paid for this employment separately in the 'Cumulative Control Totals' section. - P35 Improvements
The P35 Plain listing report has been improved to show the non-rounded Total Gross Pay. This will be required for any companies that cease trading prior to Payroll Year End 2007.
Customised Payslip improvement
Holidays Accrued to date can now be printed on the payslip using a payslip ini file. Download the Micropay Professional v5.2 maintenance release
Quickpay Midyear Release
The new features in the Quickpay Maintenance Release v7.2 are:
- You can now run Quickpay 2006 and Quickpay 2007 simultaneously - This is useful if you have to work between the two years, e.g.: check historical information in 2006 while processing payroll for 2007.
- P35 improvements - The P35 plain listing has been improved to show the non-rounded gross pay.
You must be on V7.1 in order to run the maintenance release. It will not update any previous versions.

Reinstalling your Sage Payroll Software
If you have a new PC or need to move the software to a different machine simply follow the instructions below:
- First take a full system backup

Quickpay
Micropay Professional
Software can be accessed in the following ways
1.Download the latest version from the sage website
Or
2. Use the 2006 PYE CD. The CD contains v4.1 (Micropay Professional 2006) and v6.1 (Quickpay 2006).
The PYE update must then be run after installing either of these to update to the 2007 version, then the budget changes must be applied. To download the Budget Update from the sage website, select the relevant product link below:
Once the software is installed, upon logon you will be prompted for an activation key, this can be obtained by calling 1890 946 771.
Once you have installed the software, simply restore a full system backup to obtain your data. Please refer to the help files in your program for guidance on restoring.
Micropay Proffesional:

Quickpay:
- Choose Help files, then help topics

On occasion an employee may return having ceased employment within the current tax year. If this is the case, theymust be reinstated by using the original employee number.
To do so, the finish date and finish period must be removed from their original employee details and the standard new employee procedures must be followed.

Check the version of your Sage Payroll Software
It is very important that to ensure that your version of the software is up-to-date with legislation. To check your version, open your payroll software and login. Viewing the top left hand corner will display the version you are using.
The up-to-date versions are:
- Micropay Professional v 5.1 or v5.2
- Quickpay V7.1
Please Note: This year’s budget update will not be implemented correctly if done manually, so it is important that you ensure you have the correct version.

Most problems experienced while printing or previewing reports, can be resolved in the following ways:
- From the Miscellaneous menu, choose the option ‘delete registry entries’.
- Access the Miscellaneous menu, choose the ‘Preferences’ options and ensure that the GDI option is selected.
