The Gift Voucher Shop has successfully completed an I.T.
project which has delivered administrative savings of over
€250,000.
The Gift Voucher Shop chose to work with
Advent, a Sage Business Partner who promised a bespoke solution
that would integrate the Sage solution with The Gift Voucher Shop’s
existing An Post sales database. Transaction data on the An
Post system would have to be migrated to the new financial software
solution.
“We recently opened an operation in the UK”,
explains Paul Larkin, Finance Director of The Gift Voucher
Shop. “Due to this expansion and because of the ever
increasing complexity of our database requirements, we needed a
solution that provided a seamless integration between Sage 200 and
the An Post database as well as other database platforms that the
company employs. The solution deals with thousands of
transactions every month”.
Advent upgraded The Gift Voucher Shop’s
existing Sage solution to Sage 200 putting it at the very heart of
its accounting and management information operation. Advent
then rewrote the bespoke software to provide the seamless
integration requirements between Sage 200 and the An Post
database. The solution not only drives the company’s present
requirements but will cope easily with future growth. “We now
have a separate database that is composed of the relevant
information that we receive from An Post, as well as the data from
our other sub-systems”, says Jennifer Hayes, Financial Controller,
The Gift Voucher Shop. “The bridge – the integration package
developed by Advent – allows Sage 200 to map, receive, and
interpret that data, while also allowing for continual
updating”.
The automatic updating is critical to the
operation as it is used to generate invoices to thousands of
retailers every month as well as providing management with
comprehensive reporting. It automatically reconciles all
accounting data including bank, creditors and debtors and is used
to validate all financial figures.
“The integration capability is impressive”,
concludes Jennifer. “And Sage 200 is extremely user
friendly. For those reasons, as well as our confidence in the
solution, it has significantly increased our efficiency,
productivity and accuracy and has delivered administrative savings
of over €250,000 to date. We are really delighted with the
results”.
