Sage brings accounting software to the Mac platform
Mac users will be happy to hear that Sage is now offering
support for Macs on Sage 50, Instant Accounts and Sage Micropay
Professional payroll software.
Apple Mac users with Microsoft Windows XP running on their
machine with Bootcamp or virtualisation software such as VMWare
Fusion or Parallels Desktop will now be officially supported by
Sage Ireland.
“Demand has never been greater for complete and easy-to-use
business software solutions on the Mac,” explains Liam Mullaney,
managing director, Sage Ireland.
“Sage Ireland is giving Mac users the functionality they are
looking for while delivering the kind of user-friendly experience
that drew them to the Mac in the first place."
Accountants who are Mac users have already given their thumbs up
to the development. “I find the Mac to be more efficient and I have
always used it as my preferred IT platform”, explains Stuart
Grimes, managing director, Grimes & Co.
“Previously, we used to run Sage on a standalone windows-based
PC, whilst the rest of our business was running on the Mac
platform. Now that Sage is supporting their accounting and payroll
software on the Mac, we can migrate the business fully to Mac."
Sage helping Mac users to easily manage their business on a Mac,
explained Beryl Furlong, general manager of Apple Authorised
reseller, Typetec.
“Our Mac-based customers have for many years been looking for a
sound, financial application that is supported on the Mac OS and I
think this clearly offers a very attractive solution to them.
“We are also seeing strong growth in Mac adoption in business
and Sage support for Mac users will surely accelerate this growth
in businesses switching Macs,” Furlong said.
