2. End of Support for Quickpay and Micropay Professional on Windows 98 & NT
In line with the previous announcement from Microsoft that they would no longer support or release service packs for Windows 98 & Windows NT, we now wish to advise you that Sage will also no longer fully support Quickpay and Micropay Professional on these operating systems. We recommend that you upgrade to Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or higher as future updates may not install on these operating systems.

3. Check the version of your Sage Payroll Software
It is very important for you to ensure that your version of Sage Payroll software is up-to-date for legislative purposes.
To check your version, open your payroll software and login. Viewing the top left hand corner of the screen will display the version you are using.
The up-to-date versions are:
- Micropay Professional v 5.1 or v5.2
- Quickpay V7.1
Please Note: This year’s budget update will not be implemented correctly if done manually, so it is important that you ensure you have the correct version.
The budget update is available to download from our website:

4. Micropay Professional Excel & PDF Reporting
Micropay Professional has the option of exporting most standard reports to Excel and PDF. Exporting to Excel allows you to format the reports as required and introduce your own calculations for further analysis. Saving a report to PDF can be useful in managing and distributing reports.
For more information on Micropay Professional report excel/PDF integration, simply access the links below:
5. Quickpay Period Archive & New User Interface
Ensure you’re benefiting from these new Quickpay features released last year:
- Period Archiving, which enables users to archive previous periods, revert to archived periods to generate reports and payslips from that period and then return to the current pay period to continue with the payroll.
- New Interface with user-friendly navigation
If your screen does not look like the image below, reply to this email with your name and account number and we will email you the new registration keys to licence the new features.
E-mailing Payslips in Micropay Professional
Sometimes the distribution of payslips may be quiet time-consuming, depending on the number of employees and their locations.
Micropay Professional has the ability to e-mail payslips, saving you time and money. The software will even generate a password for each employee so only they will be able to open their payslip.

Deleting an employee in Quickpay
It is imperative that any employee who has been paid at any stage during the year should remain on your system for the entire Tax Year. If the employee is leaving your employment, simply mark them as a leaver and they will be removed from your system after you run a Tax Year End.
Should the employee return, Quickpay facilitates this by enabling you to reinstate them.
