Championship Material
Cork Golf Club, one of Ireland’s most renowned inland courses,
has used Sage Instant and Sage Quickpay for its accounting,
management reporting, and payroll requirements for over ten years.
Here we see why the management of this prestigious Golf Club
believes that these Sage solutions are championship material.
The Challenge - Increase Productivity
‘Until just over ten years ago, the accounting, management
reporting, and payroll processes were all completed manually,’ Matt
Sands, Cork Golf Club General Manager, explains. ‘Manual systems
have their own problems. For instance, while we had a history of
transactions, locating a single transaction within all of our
creditor paperwork was time consuming and laborious. Manual
computation of VAT could take us a half-day, and could pose
problems with accuracy.
‘Payroll could take a great deal of time, while end of year
processing could prove difficult.
‘It was realised that the Club required a new system that would
enable us to increase our accounting, management and payroll
productivity and accuracy, while also helping us to facilitate
growth.’
Cork Golf Club management reviewed a number of different systems
that it hoped would help meet its requirements. The Club quickly
moved from its manual system to the new Sage software solutions. We
have been exceptionally pleased with the results.’
The Solution - Sage Instant and Sage
Quickpay
Having installed the Sage solutions, Cork Golf Club has
experienced a wide range of powerful benefits.
Sage Instant is an ideal accounting and management reporting
solution for small businesses and sole traders. Its easy to use
capabilities include sales, purchase, and nominal ledgers, Cash,
VAT reconciliation, and Bank Management. Creditor and debtor
control, cash flow, and invoicing is easily facilitated, while the
system also provides a comprehensive series of management reports
and histories including Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and powerful
drill-down capabilities.
Sage Quickpay is an easy to use payroll system that allows
companies to automate payroll requirements, providing quick payroll
processing, electronic payroll bank transfer, net to gross
work back and comprehensive management reporting. PAYE and PRSI are
automatically tracked and payments due accurately calculated. End
of year close out, and production of accurate P35’s, is easily
expedited.
Sage Quickpay integrates easily with Sage Instant, allowing for
quick and seamless migration of payroll data to appropriate nominal
accounts. This capability not only eliminates the need for double
entry, but also enables management to accurately track company
payroll overheads on an almost real time basis.
Championship Benefits
Since installing Sage Instant and Sage Quickpay, the Cork Golf
Club has received a number of exceptional benefits, as Matt
explains. ‘Because Sage Instant provides a wide range of histories,
we are now able to quickly drill down into our records to isolate
particular transactions. This alone has substantially increased our
levels of productivity.
‘The management reporting capability provides us with a range of
critical management data, enabling us to make informed decisions.
VAT calculations and payments are now accomplished at a push of a
button, and are much less time consuming. Additionally, the VAT
capability within Sage Instant enables us to apportion VAT, where
the Club is required.
‘Sage Quickpay has also proven highly beneficial. Its ability to
automatically calculate hourly, weekly, and monthly pay increases
productivity and efficiency. Unlike the manual system, production
of end of year P35’s is effortless. And like Sage Instant, Sage
Quickpay provides a complete history of the Club’s payroll,
allowing us to quickly drill down into payroll data should we
require to.
‘Both systems are easy to use and reliable. The support that we
receive directly from Sage is knowledgeable and timely, and we’re
very satisfied with it. In short, I definitely recommend both Sage
Instant and Sage Quickpay to other businesses.
