Some of the changes this makes to your payroll software
include:

changes.
• You can edit USC rates and thresholds.
• PRSI classes A2, A5, B2, C2, D2, H2, J2 and S2 have been
abolished. Employees who were on these classes in 2011 are
automatically moved to A1, A4, B1, C1, D1, H1, J1 and S1 for
2012.
• Timesheet calculations take into account the abolition of
employer PRSI relief on pension contributions.

28/10/2011: USC will be
cumulative in 2012
Recently, the Revenue Commissioners released a notice concerning
a change to the way the Universal Social Charge (USC) will be
calculated in 2012. In 2011, USC was calculated on a Week 1 basis.
In 2012, it will be calculated on a cumulative basis. We would like
to assure you that we will be implementing this change in your
payroll software. Your USC calculations will continue to be correct
in 2012.
03/10/2011: PRSI on Employer
PRSA Contributions and Share-Based Remuneration
Recently, the Revenue Commissioners released a notice
concerning:
• PRSI deducted on employer PRSA contributions: We would like to
assure you that both Micropay Professional & Quickpay carries
out these PRSI calculations correctly. So there's no need to worry
about PRSI refunds of such amounts. These are not necessary in
Micropay Professional & Quickpay.
• PRSI deducted on share-based remuneration: If employer or
employee PRSI has been deducted and remitted on share-based
remuneration since 1 January 2011, a refund of PRSI may be due. You
can find more information about this in the Sage Knowledge Base.
You'll need your Sage account number and password to access the
Knowledge Base.
