Annual Return of Trading Details - Sage 50
Accounts 2012
All registered VAT traders in Ireland are required to submit an
annual Return of Trading Details on form RTD. The form must be
completed giving a breakdown of the supply of goods and services,
imports and deductible inputs at the various rates applicable
during the year, regardless of whether you are trading in Ireland
only or in other countries.
Sage 50 and Instant Accounts help you to do your RTD.
Sage 50 Accounts 2012 allows users to generate
the values for the Annual Return of Trading Details and then copy
the information to the official online Return of Trading form which
is available from ROS http://www.revenue.ie/
Note: If you have upgraded to
Sage 50 Accounts 2012 prior to January 2012 then the RTD will need
to be processed manually similarly to previous versions. This is
due to the change in VAT codes which will give you a full breakdown
will not be populated for the full year as they would have
changed.

• The annual Return of Trading Details (RTD) is issued
along with the VAT 3 Return for the period in which the VAT
registered trader accounting year ends.
• It includes details purchases and sales for the year,
broken down by VAT rate. Also the VAT rate information needs to be
broken down by:
- Good and Services
- Acquisitions from European Countries
- Value of Stock for Resale
- Value of Other deductible Goods & Services
• From June 2011, the information needs to be submitted
electronically.
• The business records must be preserved in their original
form for six years from the date of the latest transaction to which
they refer.
